On the 21st February 1991 Nick Dee Shapland started his ServiceMaster Clean franchise business, as a sole proprietor. These formative years as a man and a van gave Nick the opportunity to learn the industry, servicing 50 sites over 2 franchised areas in the first 5 years of business.
Nick worked hard to generate sales, quotes and ensure all work was completed to the high standard that has become synonymous with Deeland Ltd t/as ServiceMaster. He then built upon this firm foundation through careful management, and the implementation of new systems such as the Communal Cleaning System for Social Housing. As a result of this dynamic approach, the business went from strength to strength.
In 1998 the business changed from sole proprietor to a limited business. Deeland Limited now boasts 3 Cleaning Divisions – Residential, Commercial and Communal – with over 300 staff, a fleet of more than 30 commercial vehicles and over 500 contracts across the South of England.
