Personal Assistant to the Managing Director

Business Services & Human Resources Department


Nicola serves as the PA to the Managing Director and also is part of the Human Resources and Business Services Department.

Previous career

Nicola completed a MSc in Advanced levels in Taxonomy and Biodiversity, followed by an MPhil on the transmission of parasites in Africa. In 2001 she changed career to fit in with the needs of a young family and worked as an administrator for Timelines Ltd a family owned business.

Career to date with ServiceMaster Clean

Nicola was first introduced to ServiceMaster in 2007 as a temp, but soon established a permanent position as the Human Resources Assistant. Over the next few years, she helped develop the HR department as it expanded to incorporate Business Services and become P.A. to the HR and Business Services Manager. Working closely with the HR & Business Manager provided a grounding, and insight, into the workings of the company and in 2014, Nicola accepted the role of P.A. to the Managing Director.

Nicola’s key responsibilities

P.A. to the Managing Director, key responsibilities – aid the Managing Director in the day to day running of the business, to have an oversight of, and support, all departments.

Main objectives in my job role (personal thoughts)

ServiceMaster is an enjoyable and challenging place to work and I am delighted to have been given the support to grow and develop within this dynamic company. There is a strong ethos of teamwork and being “nice” to each other – a simple and often under-rated word that has a big impact on the quality of work life. In addition, it is reassuring to work for a company that truly believes in the importance of delivering a quality service and invests in providing the people and tools required to do the job.

Future Plans

To improve my oversight and understanding of the business, through formal and informal training, to ensure the information used to support the Managing Director and other departments is accurate and appropriate to further the continuous development of the company.
